BALTIMORE CITY PERMITS
How to Renew a Permit in Baltimore City
If your permit is nearing its expiration date or has already expired, you must apply for an extension to prevent any penalties for working without a valid permit.
Applications must be submitted within 60 days of the permit expiration, and any extensions granted are restricted to a maximum of 180 days, unless approved by the Building Official.
If a permit has been expired for over 60 days, you are required to submit an application for permit reinstatement (refer to our permit reinstatement guide).
Please note: If you undergo an inspection for your permit, the expiration date will be prolonged by 180 calendar days. Therefore, you are only required to renew your permit if you have not conducted an inspection for 180 calendar days.
